Urban Blues

This piece is different from the rest of the collection, I made it less realistic for a reason. It made me think of the busy streets of London (or any other big city), colourful, exciting, full of opportunities, yet somehow impersonal - your face is lost in a sea of others, an impression.

Urban Blues painting is a part of the "Scars of Silver & Gold" series.  I got inspired  by the lyrics of Lorde's song:

   I'm a Princess cut from marble,

                smoother than a storm

    And the scars that mark my body,

                      they're silver and gold

    My blood is a flood of rubies,

                         precious stones

   It keeps my veins hot,

            the fire's found a home in me…

This poem made me wonder of how every significant event in your life, every big choice, every important person you meet, leaves its own mark on you. Whether good, bad or ugly, these "scars" shape you into a person you are, they are of Silver & Gold.  I wear mine as medals.
