Transformation

Mixed media + oil - 40 x 40 x 4cm (16 x 16in)

"I knew who I was this morning, but I've changed several times since then."

“Transformation” is part of the Midnight in Wonderland abstract series. At the heart of it is the opposing pull between comfort and exploration, the desire to remain within the safety of what we know, while longing to discover what lies beyond it.

Transformation begins in a place where nothing remains still.

There is something unsettling about transformation because it asks us to release the shape we already know. The old form begins to break apart before the new one has fully revealed itself. In that uncertain space, we can no longer rely on familiar rules, stable ground or a clear sense of direction.

Yet transformation is also a possibility. The change does not erase who we are. It rearranges us, revealing parts of ourselves that could not emerge while we remained unchanged.

This is an Original 16 by 16 inch mixed media & oil painting on a gallery-wrapped canvas. It comes with the wiring on the back and is ready to hang, right out of the box.
