"Why, sometimes I've believed as many as six impossible things before breakfast"
“The moon that led her in” is a part of Midnight in Wonderland abstract series exploring the intricate balance between reality and imagination, and the profound depths of Alice in Wonderland, a cherished childhood favourite.
The series explores the endless tug-of-war between two primal forces within us: the need to remain safe and grounded, and its restless twin - the desire to explore the unknown.
This painting reflects on that tension through the moon’s double nature. Its bright light welcomes Alice into the garden, turning the night into a place of possibilities, curiosity and enchantment.
Yet the same moon casts shadows that stir a fear of what may be lurking in the darkness.
The moon is both a kind guide and a trickster: it lets Alice and us in, but never promises what might be found.
This is an Original 16 by 16 inch mixed media & oil painting on a gallery-wrapped canvas. It comes with the wiring on the back and is ready to hang, right out of the box.
