Oceans Collection
<< Hold on to the thread... The currents will shift... Glide me towards you... Know something's left... And we're all allowed... To dream of the next time we touch... You don't have to stray... The oceans away...Waves roll in my thoughts... Hold tight the ring... The sea will rise... Please stand by the shore... I will be there once more>> The Oceans series was inspired by the rock classic of my student years -The Oceans by Pearl Jam. Music is a big part of me. Often when I paint, a particular song comes to mind spontaneously as my painting develops and comes alive.

Scars of Silver & Gold Collection
I got inspired to paint "Scars of Silver & Gold" series while reflecting on the lyrics of Lorde's song: **I'm a princess cut from marble... smoother than a storm... And the scars that mark my body... they're silver and gold... My blood is a flood of rubies, precious stones... It keeps my veins hot.... the fire's found a home in me...** Made me ponder how every significant event in your life, every big choice, every important person you meet, leave their own mark on you. Whether good, bad, or ugly, these "scars" shape you into a person you are, they are of Silver and Gold. I wear mine as medals. This collection is about honouring your journey and the marks it leaves on you; feeling defiant, strong, wise. Unstoppable. Invincible.

A Million Miles Away
This is the collection of different paintings that have one thing in common - I let them paint themselves. This is one of my favourite art-creating processes. I put on some music and start a painting with a blank mind -a million miles away- having no particular idea of what I wish to paint. Often, I play with collages - gradually adding different colours, textures, some favourite quotes or bits of poems, I try to keep it spontaneous and have fun with freedom that stage offers. At some point, it becomes an ugly mess and I try not to let it scare me, telling myself that I will make sense of it - eventually. And I do! In most cases... the next stage is dressing it up in colours, calming it down with neutrals, putting on layers of texture media and paint, then suddenly the painting comes alive. I love the moment when I look at it and go "oh, yeah, THAT's what it wanted to be!"
