Moon river

Mixed media & oil - 40 x 40 x 4cm (16 x 16in)

"If you don't know where you are going, any road will get you there." Cheshire Cat

“Moon river” is a part of Midnight in Wonderland abstract series inspired by the hidden depths of Alice in Wonderland, a cherished childhood favourite.

A key glints in the branches, close enough for Alice to take. Then another catches her eye—and another. Soon the whole of Wonderland seems to be whispering: "Go on... Choose one... Pick me!"

Each key is a tiny promise, a possibility, a new story. It might lead to a marvellous discovery, an unexpected companion, or a place best left on the other side of a lock.

The trouble is, Wonderland never labels its keys. Moon River beacons Alice and holds her in a deliciously uneasy pause between desire and doubt - wanting to open every door, while knowing that some doors are kept closed for a reason.

This is an Original 16 by 16 inch mixed media & oil painting on a gallery-wrapped canvas. It comes with the wiring on the back and is ready to hang, right out of the box.
